Mungu Church System

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Prepared with regard to the Personal Data Protection Act of Tanzania

1. Roles

Each subscribing church or ministry (the "organization") is the data controller of the personal data it enters about its members, staff and visitors. Mungu Church System acts as the data processor, storing and processing that data only to provide the Service and only on the organization's instructions.

2. What is stored

3. How data is protected

4. How data is used

Data is used solely to operate the Service for your organization: registers, receipts, reports, statements, notifications and communications your organization chooses to send. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Communications

SMS and email messages (announcements, reminders, confirmations) are initiated by your organization's authorized staff. Delivery uses licensed Tanzanian SMS gateways with approved sender IDs. Members who do not wish to receive messages should inform their church office, which can exclude them from communications.

6. Your rights

Subject to the Act, individuals may ask their organization to access, correct or delete their personal data. Organizations may export their full data at any time and may request deletion of their account data after termination. Deleted records are removed from active systems and subsequently from backups in the normal backup cycle.

7. Retention and backups

Data is retained while the organization's account exists, including during subscription pauses. Routine encrypted backups are kept for service continuity and are not used for any other purpose.

8. Children's data

Records about children (for example Sunday school registers) are entered by the organization under the consent and authority of parents or guardians, and are protected by the same access controls. Organizations should collect only what is necessary.

9. Contact

Privacy questions or requests: contact the system administrator through the details on the home page, or speak with your church office, which controls your records.
