Directory, claims and removal policy
Policy revision: directory-2026-10-23
What the directory provides
Mungu.Me lists churches so people can discover local communities. A sourced entry is separate from an approved church account. Listing a church does not enroll anyone, authorize a representative, certify doctrine, promise a service or imply the church endorses Mungu.Me.
Sources and accuracy
Unclaimed entries identify the public source and the date it was checked. Names and locations can change. Public source information is reviewed before publication; incomplete locations remain in review. Consult the source and contact the church before relying on a listing.
Meaning of the labels
Sourced · unclaimed means no representative has been approved on Mungu.Me. Reviewed church account means the platform has approved the church’s account review. Neither label verifies every public statement or establishes a person’s membership. Membership, management permissions and directory publication are separate decisions.
Claiming management authority
Use a verified personal account and open the specific church listing. Submit your full name, role, accurate statement and documentary evidence of authority. An independent platform reviewer can ask for more information, approve or reject the claim with reasons. A claim cannot replace existing managers or restore a revoked appointment. Conflicting claims require a separate authorized resolution.
Private statements and evidence
Statements and supporting files are visible to the applicant and authorized platform reviewers. Evidence downloads are logged. Provide only information necessary to assess this request, redact unrelated personal details and never include passwords or complete identity document numbers. Supported files are PDF or raster images, up to 512 KB each.
Requesting removal or correction
Open the listing and choose Request listing removal. Explain the inaccurate, duplicate, closed or privacy-sensitive information, your relationship to it and any supporting evidence. Submission does not immediately hide a listing. A reviewer records an independent decision and may request more information. If approved, the public listing and public church page are hidden.
What removal preserves
Directory removal hides public discovery; it is not account deletion. Church records, memberships, permissions, financial records, source attribution, request evidence and decision history are retained for authorized use and accountability. Authorized reviewers can revisit visibility with a documented reason. To request account or personal-data action, contact support and identify the specific information involved.
Exact and approximate locations
An unclaimed listing always uses a sourced district centroid when available, even if an imported row contains coordinates. An approved church uses its recorded coordinates when valid; otherwise it uses the district centroid. Approximate pins show the district centre, not the church building. Missing reliable coordinates are labelled unavailable. The optional map loads from OpenStreetMap only after you choose to load it.
Feedback and review disputes
Track your request in My directory requests. Respond to a request for information through the same record so evidence and reasons stay together. If you disagree with a decision or cannot resolve a management conflict, contact support with the request reference and additional evidence. Do not create duplicate churches or submit claims for institutions you do not represent.
